Who: Kirino Ranmaru and Kariya Masaki
What: Exploring funtimes! Also event-related not-so-fun-times.
When: September 20th
Where: Dreamyard
Warnings: Nightmare-y things happening!

It didn't take Kirino and Kariya long to reach the Dreamyard at all, and they'd been poking around the area for at least an hour already. Out of Kirino's Pokémon, Athos had opted to stay behind for some reason. Kirino wasn't necessarily complaining, but he felt a little apprehensive with the ghost-type not with him. It might have been connected to the foreboding feeling he had but shoved to the back of his mind. He was worrying too much as usual. That was all. He shouldn't let his imagination get ahead of him like that, right?

Kirino waded his way through the grass, which came up to his waist. "... The area's bigger than I thought it'd be."

"So, when we stopped, we were heading..."

Which way? Kariya swiveled around to stare out across the grass behind them, blinking slow. He could have sworn some of the dilapidated structures they'd passed through on their way had been back there. Instead, save for a few vague shapes in the distance, the view was just more vegetation.

"...this direction?"

An uncomfortable shrug. The moment's confusion had put him on guard, but they had to have just walked further than he'd realized.

"Yeah, it's probably all the same."

That declaration drew a flash of anxiety across Kariya's face.

"We're probably farther out than we noticed - " he muttered, unconvinced. For all the open grass, there had been ruins and debris in sight near-constantly. They'd had to maneuver their way around them just to get into the yard, whereas now...he squinted to try to make out if the figures off away from them were buildings or close-clumped trees.

"We'll get our bearings again, if we keep going and run into something for a landmark, probably."

But he edged closer to Kirino as he took his next few steps, all the same, and scanned the ground intently. It was way too hushed. There should have been the sound of the grass being rustled by more than the wind and the two of them, of paws or whatever else moving around...but Kariya could only latch onto the noises they were making themselves. Those and the wind.

The whole situation gave him the worst, most unplaceable case of déjà vu.
